When I created this piece, I had just gone through one of the hardest experiences in my life. I spent weeks laying on my couch depressed about my situation until one night I decided I was tired of feeling down. I harnessed the strength I needed to get back to a normal life and regain the ambition that once fuelled my fire. But, you have to go through it to get over it. Take all the time you need to feel every emotion to the fullest extent until it no longer serves a purpose; for it is necessary for proper healing. So, full circle, this piece is similar to the notion of a phoenix rising from its own ashes.
